About the event
The Undercurrent presents The Kelburn Viaduct Municipal Ensemble Jug Band!
KVmeJB has been on the scene since 2013 when they played their lively set of jug band music for the Wellington Folk Festival. There have been a few line-up mixes along the way, here is the most recent formation!
Neil Worboys began performing in bands and composing songs in Wellington in the early ‘70s, and continued to play jug band and roots music in the 1980s and early 1990s while living in Gisborne. In 1995, he formed the Wellington Heads, a jazz / rhythm n’ blues band which also includes Bill Wood. Before coming to New Zealand Carol Bean was living in Los Angeles where she had the privilege of being a student of Ry Cooder’s. Her electric blues band Blue Highways played Wellington gigs for 10 years, at the Bristol, Bodega, the Sound Shell, San Fran, and the Martinborough…
